Bada Hari das (Jon Ely)
Bada Haridas grew up is Southern California. From an early age, he performed with jazz and classical groups. He received a degree in Music composition from USC and worked as a freelance pianist and bass
player in the LA area. After graduation, he spent two years in Europe with the Institute for advanced Musical Studies orchestra and composition departments. In 1975, he became involved in intense spiritual pursuit. He spent the
next years practicing Bhakti yoga, studying the Vedas and learning sansktrit and Bengali chants, songs and mantras.
At present he teaches devotional music and instruments such as harmonium and mrdanga. He travels and performs, and gives seminars on the songs of the Vaisnava acaryas. His CD's combine traditional
