Now It Makes Sense

Amazing lecture, an amazing realization. I've listened once, and plan on listening again after I practice this "shift" for awhile.

Could it be that much of the "under-achieving" in the world is due to that kind of backward thinking? How do you think this shift will take place, since most of the institutions you mentioned are so against it? And after so many years of subconciously believing this way, how to truly free the mind of this deep pattern?

Thank you for your appreciation.

I am certain that the present state of the world and the individuals within it is a product of the negative thought patterns instilled within us by our misunderstanding of what we are. Under-achieving is a part of this.

I tried to address the problem of practically applying this way of seeing the self and the world in my last lecture, "The Spirit of Society," yet the conditioning is so deep within us I fear only the new generations will be able to embody the virtues of evolved value structures.

Unfortunately, this sounds depressing. We can try our best to accept this knowledge through the usual channels of the mind, intelligence and heart and insist on it manifesting in action, but when we are tested by external events we shall often fall into the habits deeply burned into our consciousness.

I am researching this issue and hope that it can be resolved in some way. Perhaps EFT can help? If you or anyone else has some contribution to make to our healing, please share it with us!

There are a few techniques or training methods from the system I have been studying. I have only begun to scratch the surface of them, but my teachers have practiced them with incredible results. Seeing that they've used them and succeeded (as well as many before them), I'm pretty certain they are on to something. This method is the prerequisite to opening up the human potential, and I don't think it's been written down much. And without one of these masters to check if you are doing it right, it could be difficult for some people to do. Having heard your lectures and done some of your meditations, I have no doubt you could research this, gain results, and help the rest of us to do it better!

I'll give a quick synopsis and if you see any worth in it, I'll try to explain it more. It's based on evolution, so the first thing is that we accept that as humans we have evolved to where we are now. First as simple creatures (trilobytes), to fish, to amphidians, to mammals, to ancient man (ape-like to pre-human) to humans. Six levels. The DNA from all of those levels of evolution would then be in us all of our lives. But we have developed only around 10% of our brain (the big brain or neocortex or thinking brain). The other parts are not well-developed in our modern species, like what they call the small brain which controls balance, physical movement, even intuition. For instance, the tsunami didn't kill any wildlife because they all knew it was coming, and they got away. That connection with Nature seems to be a function of the small brain which is underdeveloped in modern man.

This method is going in to each level of the brain and feeling it. Each level has a feeling of a specific "energy movement". Deep relaxation is a pre-requisite, and then going progressively deeper to feel each level (thru a meditative technique). Sitting or standing doesn't matter. This practice is to balance the small brain and big brain. Ostensibly, we would then be using that elusive part of the brain that scientists say is dormant. I was beyond excited when this was explained to me, only a couple of weeks ago. If we (or you Hari) could produce a guided meditation of this, I'd be grateful and overjoyed. Provided of course that you see some benefit in it.
