Know thyself

Post by harsi »

I just discovered this method myself spontaneosly a few years ago. I fix and focus my attention when I have some spare time on the part of the heart, there is also the heart chakra, thus I can reload my own and my physical and mental power by disconnecting myself for a few minutes or sometimes longer from the thoughts in my mind. I like it to dwell in my own non-physical or spiritual being. Its a very powerful and liberating process when all the thoughts come to a standstill even for a limited time. Thus becoming aware or realize ones own spiritual or non-physical being, some call it also soul or ones self is in fact very easy. Try it out and know thyselves from experience that is within the scope of your will.

Lao Tzu, in his Tao Te Ching, says "Knowing others is wisdom. Knowing the self is enlightenment. Mastering others requires force. Mastering the self requires strength." Adi Shankaracharya, in his commentary on Bhagavad Gita says "Self-knowledge alone eradicates misery". "Self-knowledge alone is the means to the highest bliss.". "Absolute perfection is the consummation of self-knowledge ." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophy_of_self

In the Bhagavad gita one can read also a verse regarding this. There Krishna says: "From wherever the mind wanders due to its flickering and unsteady nature, one must certainly withdraw it and bring it back under the control of the self" (Bg 6.26) See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnothi_seauton
Open up your mind and heart to new experiences of consciousness.
