Re: Our goals and objectives

Yes, that is exactly how it works! We all need support, helping hands, and loving parents and teachers. Or friends. I feel we are very afraid of giving ourselves "too much" because we think we will be cheated. So, we disbelieve our intuition. I find your consoling words very important and ...

Re: Our goals and objectives

Thank you for this explanation. I know you may feel tired by being asked many times about the same issues (you mentioned that in one of your posts). However, just discussing it brings relief and remembrance of who we really are. And it definitely helps, even if your intuition tells you the same thing.

Re: Our goals and objectives

When I talked to the people about the message of Vedas (or whatever you call it, if you want to get them believe you are an authority worth listening to), which was an absolute and unquestionable reference point for me at that time (= many years ago=old days), now, when I look back, there was one qu...

Re: Faith

Yes, I see what you are trying to say. I think the word "properly" is the crucial one. We make choices all the time. I read at many places that the first thing you feel when interacting with others is the the reflection of your real nature. You can literally hear the voice saying what is g...

Re: Faith

Thank you of sharing this comment. I hope you do not mind if I come back to the first line of your former answer: "You preserve your spiritual integrity by not allowing others to drown you in their own problems" Do you mean "to assist" but not "to engage yourself"? To b...

Re: Faith

Thank you. I find the topic very important and practical as well. I refer to the first sentence of your comment. For me, it has been maybe the greatest challenge in life. This is what I meant by to endure vs. to withdraw. I think the greatest part of this challenge is a fear of not being accepted or...

Re: Faith

Dear Hari, Thank you for this very accurate depiction of the "spiritual scenario". The science works exactly the way you described it. For some reason, we have a tendency to either reject our inner feelings and intuition to only rely on the "objective facts" = tertium non datur, ...

Re: Devas

Dear Harsi, Please, excuse me for bringing this up to your attention. I feel that it should be said. I would like to quote this one from a previous post: "Consistently you challenge the basic points that I have presented. This is a problem because I do not wish to go back to square one in these...

Re: Will something live on after our physical death and wher

"Rascals" I am working at university and meet "scientists" every day. I hope I am scientist myself. I think Prabhupada does not mean a specific category of people (scientists) but what he means are people who make us believe there is nothing else than what they perceive and can e...

Re: Will something live on after our physical death and wher

I like Walsch's books. I found a lot of valuable information in them. I do not think we can compare it with Indian swamis shouting about oneness. In this life, I have an European mind and a Christian background so the whole Indian world is somewhat exotic for me. But I appreciate this vast knowledge...

>>>>>On the other hand I have not yet fully understood what Hari proposes as a cure for all this. Not everyone of us is so experienced in practising psychotherapy and has the ability to turn the patients inside-out. * Why do we believe what we believe? Re: Will something live on after our physical death and wher

Thanks for your comments. Regarding why people criticize Hare Krishna when they leave, it is probably the same as with hatred and love. These feelings are so close to each other. Frustration, disappointment, insufficiency. I do not think these people feel comfortable with themselves. >How do you und...

Re: Will something live on after our physical death and wher

Thank you for this very interesting discussion. I assume that people who follow certain religious traditions do it but their own choice. We can only see a particle of time, and cannot see beyond the boundaries of birth and death, but there must be a good reason for that too. What I "realized&qu...
